Hi everyone,

I am trying to repair an old NICELog which was provided broken and just with some applications.
So far I have installed the database and accessed the NICE Administrator applications.
However, when I try to retrieve audio files from tapes I get a disk failure error

The log says:

APIMGR: API failed in DatDB previous headers - Directory device is not loaded 0 0

Do you know what does it mean?
I think the problem is related to the fact that it cannot find the directory on the disk where to store the retrieved tape

Unfortunately, I do not have experience with NICE software and hw and I do not know what to do to listen the retrieved audio from tapes.
The system was completely reinstalled and therefore no audio is saved on the logger and some software may be missing.

P.

EDIT

FATAL: TDevice.ReadDirectoryMarker failed on read 1 -55
FATAL: ReadDirectory - cannot read one of the tables 0 0
FATAL: Recovery - Could not skip to next directory 1 26
WARN: ASSIGN failed on Load Directory 1 1

Hi Nicepeppino

On the nicelog there should be a :
C:\ Your normal C drive
D:\ with the NT logger folder.
E:\ drive that is unformated. This is where the audio is stored.

Regards Johan

I beleive that the directory device not loaded error is due to invalid tape drive drivers. Are you using the recommended nice drivers that are on the ftp site or comes on the installation cd for the logger? Its the Hardware driver cd.
