How to Restore from NT backup 1

The backup was done with NT backup a while ago. Now one of the users needs some folders restored.

Is there a good "how to" document that can point me in the right direction.

I do not need to restore the entire message store, just a few folders from a mailbox.

Any helpful hints would be appreciated.

Thank you. It seems from that document that I can have the message store restored to a temporary folder. Where is that folder?

Here is what the document suggests "Restore a full backup set to the server where the Recovery Storage Group is located."

They dont tell you where this is.

It's a another storage group, in Exchange System Manager. You'd have to use exmerge to extract their mailbox, then you'll have a PST file that they can retrieve data easily.

The same way you backed it up.

Once you've followed the directions in the article for the recovery storage group, you will run NTBackup and select Exchange Exchange Server, Server Name, Microsoft Information Store, First Storage Group, Mailbox store. Not any individual files.
