Hi

Im new in this forum, i have stores whit micros 3700 v 3.2 SP7 HF3 (build 3.2.89.1459),i require to change 12 store's to the V 4.1 HF3 (build 4.1.19.906) ,any of you know how to rename the DB,I think clone machines and just rename the databases.

thanks for your help

PD. I do not speak English very well

This is pretty open ended. Are you upgrading the same machine or just upgrading the existing servers. I would also ask why you would rename the DB. Or are you asking how to rename the server, which would require the setname utility.

im rolling out 4.4 and its pretty simple i think what you need to do to accomplish your task is the following put this on a test system first
get a back up of your database and drop it in the new server then once is in the database folder right click and select properties and uncheck read only
now run the following script to force the database to start
3700d -stop
dblog -t d:\micros\database\data\micros.log d:\micros\database\data\micros.db
dbsrv9 -x tcpip -n sqlMICROS1 d:\micros\database\data\micros.db -f
3700d -start

you can replace the name of micros1 to whatever your server name is.
once started then open dm.exe and select the option to upgrade an existing database and it should upgrade your database to whatever version of 4.x you have installed.
Let me know if you have any questions
