In one of my fields, I have a number 999-888-llll. In IE with thier smart tags this comes up looking like a phone number. With a flag on one side and a phone symbol on the other.

is there a meta tag i can add to my page to prevent the explores from interpeting this as a phone number. It is not

AFAIK, Smart Tags were only in the early versions of IE6.
Are you sure that this isn't the Skype Add-on/Plugin for Internet Explorer?

thank you so much, I did not even think of that. I removed the skype add0n

Is there any way in the code to prevent this instead of just having them turn the Skype add in off?

JTaylorTTT,

The skype documentation lists the following meta tag as a way of turning off the parser.

Code:
<meta name="SKYPE_TOOLBAR" content="SKYPE_TOOLBAR_PARSER_COMPATIBLE" />

Keep us updated on whether it works, as I don't use Skype!
