How to remove old workgroup from my network places

I have old workgroups showing up in my network places. I have deleted them out of the DNS & WINS server and they are still there.

Any ideas on what to try next??

Perhaps it needs a bit of time for the changes to trickle down? You could look at the two policies mentioned here and see if you can do anything with them?

It's been weeks since the workgroups were disconnected from the network.

I on my network if there are not any workgroup computers connected the workgroup won't show up.
