Hi W2K experts,

When I installed 2000 Server, I mistakenly told it to configure as a DSN server. Well, it is not a DNS server and
doesn't need to have that setting. In Event Viewer, I see logs for DNS Server along with Applications, Security and System.

How can I remove the setting in the OS that indicates the server is a DNS server?

Thanks, John

Go to Control Panel / Add remove programs /remove windows components / network services / uncheck DNS ......

Vbrocks, your are correct in how to uninstall the DNS service, however, what John and myself would like to know is how do you remove the "DNS Server" listing from Event Viewer? After uninstalling the DNS server service, the listing for the DNS Server still remains in EV.

Thx

Jeff
