After set up sendmail, I found that I have to add every domain which my users want to send emails to into access and compile it, how can I remove the feature or disable it?

Thx,

Arthur

umm ... you shouldn't have to do that ...

you add your users machines to the list and allow them to send anything ...

either that or they've broken the access.db functionality since i last used it.

You don't even need to do that. All the access file needs is the domain which you want to grant access for relaying so just put

yourdomain.com RELAY

in there and any mail to and from this domain will be delivered as you'd expect.

Obvisouly re-compile it and stop/start Sendmail and your fine

Hi TalentFool,

Thx for your reply. my email server works, but, if a user in another domain, i.e. bill@ibm.com, send email to me, and ibm.com not in access.db or relay-domains, now, I reply the email, I get error: 550.

As I understand, I have to add the domains my users will send to access or relay-domains, one thing is I cannot know which domain they will use.

How can I make the email system to send email to most and deny only those I want to reject?

thx in advance.
