I have an SRG which connects to a CS100 back at the main office. All my IP phones run through the SRG, even the 2 or 3 at the main office. The register back to the CS1000 and run over the CS1000 unless the link between the sites fails. The problems comes in that I now wish to reassign a phone from one user (he is getting a digital line at the main office) to another user. The original user still needs their current phone number. My goal is to assign the existing IP phone at the remote location a new phone number. I don't see a way to just change the number on the SRG, and if I reassign the number in the CS1000 without changing anything on the SRG, the phone falls back in to local mode.

What can be done to change this phone's number?

You can change the local number in the CS1000 as well as the SRG under active sets. I would then de-register the set on the SRG. When the set boots into local mode, enter the new set DN. You can then redirect back to the main office by entering the new BUID and TN number.
