How to recognize which version of DirectX is installed?

Hi, I have Windows XP Pro installed on my PC and I would like to know if there is a way to find out which version of DirectX I have installed on my PC or if no DirectX is installed. Or if there is a way to find out in any other system (e.g. Windows 98SE, WinME, XP HOME etc).

Start, Run, dxdiag This should work in all the mentioned OS's.
