Hi!

Just some assistance, I was required to make port identification on the e1/r2 and ISDN. I"ve downloaded the Office data, how do I determine the 30 channels and port assignments of each and how many are active?

e.g. channel 1 - in/out calling, DIDXXX etc?

Also how to identify the LEN port and extension?
I've attached the office data for reference

Thanks a lot!

Sorry about that, its the NEAX2000IPS, 2 cabinet system.

I cannot open your backup. I no longer have a working system. Can you perform a LEN list, export it to excel and post that?

Oh the attached file came from the Office Data, this runs on Excel format.

How to do a LEN list?

Thanks!

Hi Belevedere,

I;ve attached the Len List.

Also, another inquiry, on the Neax2000IPS E1/R2, we encounter telco message" the number you dial does not exist" after several tries, we can successfuly connect, same as outgoing, fast busy then after several dial 9s, we are successfully connected.

This time its getting worse, the calls are dropped from in/outgoing calls, not exact duration, from 1 sec. to 40sec.

Can Any 30channel ports be defective or can we do a reset. The Telco advised a loop test then ber test? How is this?

Thanks again@

Your E1 card is in PIM0, slot 8, 9, 10 or 11. T-1/E-1/CCIC cards do not show up in the LEN list. However, you have several 8 port station cards and what looks like 2, 8 port analog trunk cards in slot 6 + 7. The first installed T1/E1 needs to be in PIM 0. Have you tried a card reset? Flip the busy switch up, then down.
To further identify things, answer the following;
CMD 050>0 -> do any of the settings show a 12 = T-1/E-1? The number in 050 corresponds to the rotary switch setting on the card.
CMD 0608>same switch setting> data (DXXX-DYYY). D = trunk, XXX/YYY = channel on the card.

See attached for a guide.

It would appear two cards are fitted with sense switches set to 06 & 07 (note they are set to 09 not 12) trunks programmed are D032 to D061 on the card with sense switch set to 06 and trunks D100 to D129 on the card set to 07

As Belvedere has pointed out, the ISDN cards are AP cards (Applications Processor Cards) as such they do not consume Lens ports.

Hi belevedere ,OzzieGeorge

As always, I very much appreciate your assistance.

Thank you for the inputs, just another inquiry/clarification, our telco and pushing us to migrate fro E1/R2 to ISDN, can the PN-DTA still be used and do we have to change anything on the existing E1/R2?

Again Thanks!

What are they pushing you to migrate to? If SIP then converters are available to convert SIP to ISDN. It is too late to buy licenses to enable this system to connect to Native SIP.

Sorry missed the convert from E1 to ISDN! I would recommend skiping that step and going to SIP trunks and use a converter as ISDN is also becoming obsolete (Australia are currently decommissioning the ISDN network). Speak to a specialist as it is either convert to ISDN and then to SIP, or convert directly to SIP, or buy a new PABX!

Hi OzzieGeorge,

As of now, we are resolving the E1 error with the telco, after some research, would it be possible for the PN-DTA or DTB be reconfigured as and ISDN line? It seems like there are PIN configurations we can change to ISDN?

They are looking into SIP trunks with an IP_PBX upgrade but this will take time.

Thanks again!

The DTA cards were reconfigurable IIRC but you need the firmware and that will be hard to get these days. I personally would suggest you research a SIP to E1 converter and save the money you would outlay on a new card for a temporary solution. The big advantage from your point of view is that there would be no programming changes to the PABX and it would give you time to transition at your own rate to a newer PABX.

A couple of examples.....

I have no experience with these particular products as we don't use E1 in Australia.

Thanks, appreciate the input on this!

Hi!

We have the NEAX2000IPS with E1/R2, we have been experiencing complaints that when dialing our pilot number, they hear the announcement "The telepone np. you dialed does not exist" after 3 to 5 attempts, the call is successful, this is intermittent. Sometimes, the call is successful on 1 (one) try.

Our Telco is pointing at the NEC E1/R2. How can we do a loop back test to check if all the 30channels are active?

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks!

A few ways to do this.
1. CMD E8>001, trunk number is a DCON command and will show what extension is connecte to the specified trunk.
2. Set up in CMD 200 a direct trunk select code (A081). Dial the code followed by a trunk number (001) then a phone number to test the trunk for outbound operation.

Hi Belevedere,

Thanks for the info, we had a joint call simulation testing with the Telco and it seems, the E1/R2 on the NEAX2000IPS is the one releasing the call.

I've attached the data the telco has sent and they highlighted the call cancellation code due to undefined extension number and for reference, a successful call, our pilot number has a 3 digit extension length.

But as mentioned earlier, this only occurs in some channel of the E1.

Almost forgot, I don't have any reference on the manual for CME8, it jumps from E7 to E9.

Any thoughts?

Thanks again!
