I've built a UML diagram with informative descriptions
of the properties for each class. However I can't find
any way to make the information about those properties
print, either as part of the diagram or on a separate page.
It seems pointless to be able to input this information
if there is no way to "get it out", but I can't find any
help either online or in the doc. Is there something
I'm missing?

TIA,
Susan

Have you found an answer to this question. I too am looking for a way to print reports on uml diagrams such as creating a report of use case models showing the name of a use case along with its description.

This would seem like a really basic feature. But there doesn't appear to be anything available. Let me know if you found something.

Frank.

No, there has been a resounding silence on this question.
If I ever do hear anything, I'll post a follow-up here.

Generally you can pull out custom properties information from a Visio diagram using the Custom Properties Reporting Wizard. You can find this in Tools > Add-ons > Visio Extras. Options include placing the data in a visio shape or in an Excel file. The reporting wizard in Visio 2002 is much better than previous versions.

Thanks for the tip. I looked through that wizard, and
it presents the data in the form of a spreadsheet. What
I really want is to see the description and other details
of an attribute within the diagram - kind of an "expanded"
diagram of the class. If this isn't possible, then
perhaps you could add it to your "wish list" for future
releases.

Susan

halo Susan,

I'm using visio for first time as a UML Tool and I find my self with a drown model in my screen without being able to get a useful document from it.
Did you get any news in this mater?

Regards,
Domingos
