all i can find on the subjuect leads me to process seperation. i'm only printing in 3 colors and need to seperate those 3. do i have to do it manually, or is there an option like there is for process?

You must use the Pantone colour palette, Draw will then separate corectly. If you are using the cmyk or RGB pallette Draw will automatically try to separate cmyk.

thank you so much. follow up question- is there a way to convert my bitmap to pantone (closest match) colors, or do i have to redraw it?

I am not aware of an easy way (others here may know better)Re-drawing if practical will always be a better bet.
