Greetings to all NEC Gurus!

I used Quintum analog gateway to link my NEC PBX with my VoIP Phone System. My problem is, the NEC PBX who do the trunk to trunk connection doesn't release after ending the call. Is there a parameter that I missed or this is normal to analog phone system? Is there a work around so that the trunk to trunk connection will release after each call?

PBX: NEC NEAX 7400 IMX

Thank you very much in advance!

Basically if there is no release signal from one line or the other, then they will stay locked together. Can the Quintum or your carrier do reversal on idle as that would probably be the only way round this. Alternatively use another interface like 4wire E&M or an ISDN interface of some form (BRI or PRI)

The Quintum unit offers three types of disconnect, Forward Disconnect, Reverse Battery, Disconnect Tone.
All of the above types of supervision are provided from the PSTN provider to the Tenor. Once the Tenor receives this supervision from the PSTN, it passes the disconnect back to the other end of the connection. If you are getting a disconnect tone from the PBX, then this option may be the solution. However, depending on what type of analog station card you are using, it may have switch setting to select battery reversal for one or more ports on the card. If it is an analog trunk card, then there may be a switch setting for the first port to be used as a paging port. This may give you the disconnect you are looking for. The best option is the one suggested by Ozzie, using TIE lines.
