Hi,

I have accidentally saved my notes id in a cybercafe which has Lotus Notes Client installed during that time for my access.

May I know what is the best method so that even if they use my notes id, they cannot access my emails?

I do not want to change my username nor email name.

Will changing of my password help?

Rgds,

Access to an ID file does not necessarily grant access to emails. They also need to know the password associated with that ID file. Once they have that combination there is nothing you can do to prevent access to your email.

To further muddy the waters, if you have loaded your ID file on multiple machines, there is no guarantee that the passwords associated with those files are the same. An example of this is if I have Notes loaded at work and on my pc at home. I change the password on my work machine to something cryptic like "BR549" (Hee Haw fans will understand the reference) and on my home machine I change it to "password". The machines are using the same ID file, but the passwords are unique to each physical file being stored on each machine.

That being said, the best thing you can do delete the ID file from the offending machine and access it from a floppy from here on out or change your password on the ID file that is stored on the machine that you are using.

I hope this helps.

Jim

Explain the suituation to your administrator. Change your password on your current machine, copy the ID file to a floppy and ask your administrator to overwrite your ID on the server with the ID on the floppy.

That is to say there are no other methods?

How about recertifying my notes id?
