Please help me on populating the ttx subreport in Crystal Report?

You can set the same ttx file as the source for the main report and all subreports. Just make sure that you include the data that you need. Then just add fields to the subreport from the ttx as you would in the main report.

Thank you very much. Much better if you could give me a sample code for that. Thanks you very much again.

Sorry, clicked 'submit' too soon.

When you are stuck or have a specific question post again with the relevant code.

If I misunderstood your request please clarify.

Hi there,
Thanks for this helpful doc but once you've created and saved a TTX how can you reopen it to make an update/change?

-Thanks-

Open it in Note pad if you know how to make the changes. It is not hard, just follow the format that is there. Or you can recreate it using the CreateFieldDefFile api call.

You will have to open the report and verify the database each time you cahnge the ttx file. Changing the ttx file does not update the report.

Thanks zemp - That works.
Any cautions re monkeying with this file from the back end?

-Thanks again-

The only thing that could go wrong is that you need the 'old' ttx file in the future to recreate one of your reports. But now that you see how they're formatted, you'll know how to roll your own if you need it.

No Cautions that I have come across. The file is only used by the report to set its data source. VB does not actually use the file. And any changes to the file will only be registered when you verify the database of the report. The report will carry the field definitions of the ttx file.
