How to Place greyscale images in InDesign? 1

How can I place images in InDesign which were saved in photoshop as greyscale tiff files? There is no Greyscale working space in InDesign and if I place a photoshop greyscale in Indesign the image will go darker. Thanks. I am new to InDesign and I just cannot understand why there is no greyscale working space in InDesign.

Greyscale working space in InDesign is the CMYK working space. You are simply only using 'K' to define the grey.

I use Indesign 3 . The problem when I pull the tab menu , they do not show the whole menu, so I can not use tab menu. Please show me how to correct thi?
