Hello programmers,

I have various reports that I use with different printers. I save the printer setting like margins, specific printer, paper size, etc. in the page setup feature for each report. Nonetheless, these setting get lossed somehow every so often. My question is how do I permanently save them without having to re-program thes settings?

Thank you,
Felix

In design mode of the report go to File and Page Setup and you will see the Page Tab in there is the setting to tell the report to print to specific printer as well as what margins to use. That's it.

I have this same problem. I can't tell you how many times my users will come to me with four sheets of paper in their hands and say "What's wrong with my report, it isn't printing right" because the margins have somehow reverted back to 1 inch all around instead of .25 inch.

It doesn't matter that this has happened before. It doesn't matter that I've explained the issue to all of them and shown them how to reset the margins themselves. They still find it most distressing. :-( Therefore, it would be nice to figure out a way to make it stop happening.

Option provided by Wabeg pretty much answers your question. I had same issues and all sorted out. Cheers

But, see, it doesn't. That's how I get the margins set up in the first place. (I don't know how else you would do it) What's happening is that the margins I set using page setup don't stay put. They revert back. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to when or why.

Please give it a try. Set up the specefic printer by opening your form in design and then under the page tab, select the specfic printer.Ensure that the paper size is the right one because that might be an issue. In margins tab, your margin should be what you defined and should not change even if someone else is printing the report. I have absolutely no issue with my users. If this does not work, then you need to audit printer settings of printers available to your users. It also pays if you check the regional settings on individual comupters and you might want to change your own regional settings to match theirs to avoid changes in the measurement unit. Cheers

I am having the same problem on several reports for an app using Access 2000. I have set the margins and set the report to print to a specific printer from File PageSetup and the settings are saved for period of time, but then they seem to revert back to 1" margins and none of the users have changed the settings. I have noticed one issue, that if you run the compact and repair utility on the database, the characteristics that were changed will revert back to their original settings. Any thoughts??

Also, the margin settings seem to change more on specific computers. I have looked at the printer settings on these computers and the seem, to be the same as the other computers. Is there somethign else I should check??
