i have a document in word. now at different places in the document i want to be able to hit button on the toolbar(a macro i create) that inserts text then waits for user input and then enters more text after user input. In WordPerfect i think it was a pause. Any ideas would be much appreciated. thanks alot.

Hi MrSR,

maybe you can create a userform which pops up. After the user hits the [OK] on your form, the full text (the static and variable text) can be inserted in the document. If the first text is necessary for the user to fill out the variable text correctly, you can provide that on the userform.
