I have a request to open a new IE tab when selecting a help desk ticket from a search results list. I'm sure this has to be some kind of "Target=???" within the URL but since tabs are new with IE7 I have not been able to find any information on how to do this.

If someone could help me here it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Dave

Not what I wanted to hear, but sort of what I expected. Since the tabs do indeed exist there must be a way to post to them. If I do manage to find a way, I will post it here. In the meantime I'll just create a work around for it.

Thanks for your input,
Dave

I believe you can tell IE and FF to open new windows in new tabs instead. You would have to do that at each browser though.

It would be nice if the major browser makers got together asked the standards committee to add target=newtab to the next html standard then went ahead and implemented it right now. Even then it would take a while to become widespread though updates.

This is why we design tabs in the interface of the webpage itself.

Thanks for your feedback guys. I actually did try the "Target=newtab" just as a goof. Naturally it didn't work. :)

I created a work around for it, so I can wait until the information becomes available. Like I stated, the tabs are there and they work so there must be a way. If I find it, I'll post it here.

Thanks again,
Dave
