In the startup menu, the options for 1) allow full menus, 2) allow default shortcut menus, 3) allow built-in toolbars, 4) allow toolbar/menu changes, and 5) use access special keys have been unchecked. I need to get into this database somehow and need help figuring out how to get back into it. Thanks for any advice.

Try holding down the shift key and then click on the database to open it. Also when the database is open you can hit the F11 key to see the application.

I just tried that and it did not work.

That did not work either. I need to get back to the Tools, Startup Menu area again and be able to check mark the options that have been unchecked.

Did you have any luck in solving this? I am working on same issue. I have had no luck so far. Next I will see if I can use VBA to start the db, and send command to AllowFullMenus property- don't know if this will work.

Holding down shift should work. Are you clicking on the acutally .mdb file when you hold down the shift key? Or are you double-clicking on a shortcut to the mdb? Melissa

Have you tried opening up Access itself then
File/Open/Navigate to where your database is highlight it/hold down the shift key and then open it keeping the shift key down.
Is it just not opening or are you getting an error?

Hope that helps

Andy
