Hi all

I need to be able to open a Telnet session by clicking on a shape after the diagram is saved as HTML. An easy enough task by buy adding in the Hyperlink bar say Telnet://NYRouter09 .

The hard part is I need to use the custom property of the shape as the device to telnet to. I want the NYRouter09 part of the Hyperlink to be added automatically to the shape when named.

Thanks Darrell

Create a custom property "hostname" (without the quotation marks), and store the hostname of the box in it. Then, open the shape sheet, and in the address field of your hyperlink, set the address to "telnet://"&Prop.Hostname (including the quotation marks).

Thanks swolf.
It works like a charm. This feature will be a huge benefit to the network engineers and support centre. Now all I have to do change all the stencils, pity it’s retrospective as I have about 400 diagrams on the server now.

Best Regards
Darrell
