Hi, I have a Photoshop file with 2 layers. The bottom layer has a photo in it. The top layer has a large red circle painted on it. I want to only see the part of the photo that is directly beneath the red circle. How do I do this?

Just to clarify, I want to end up with an image that is white/blank except for a circular photo.

Thanks for your help,

May

Hi,

Goto your circle layer, then goto SELECT > LOAD SELECTION (hit ok at dialog box) then hide the cirlce, and with the marquee tool selected position the circular marquee where you want it on the photo then goto the photo layer, and simple copy and then paste. You will still have your original photo layer plus a new layer with the photo in the shape of the circle.

Hope this helps!

all you have to do is bring your circle layer below the image layer now select the image layer (you have to select the layer)and press Ctrl+G from your keyboard or go the layer>group with previous. This will group your image and circle layer..where your image is inside the circle and you can move your image wherever you want inside the circle.

All the best
