Can any one suggest a way not to send NDR's on SPAM. I mean when a SPAM is sent to a non-exists recipient, the EX postmaster send NDR to to source (spammer) with <> as originator.
Don't send NDR's at all, ever. That is just one of the things spammer us.
Disable all autoreplies etc. to the internet in your internet connector

Auto response is turned off since the EX was installed.
Notifications are set to minimum - message time out and protocol error are the only enabled notifications.
Try unchecking those anyway and see what happens. Uncheck send any notifications and remove the mailbox for notifications. I did the same thing you did and still sent out NDR's. It wasn't until I unchecked everything and restarted the IMS service that it worked. Come to think of it maybe I never restarted the IMS after I set my notifications to minimum..............
Well devastator,
Now there are no notifications at all.
Of course the NDRs to the spammers conrinue. I have opened those mails and it was sent from my postmaster to the unreachable sender specifying that someone@mydomain.com is not a valid recipient.
Have you solved your problem yet? I am in similar situation. I use Exch5.5SP4 with Outlook clients. Outlook clients are using Out-of-Office Assistant. Do I NEED to have Auto Reply ON in order for Out-of-Office to work?
If I do, that's a bummer because I would like to disable it.
AccUser, if your OOO to the internet is OFF, internal OOO will still work, just not to the outside.
