I Would Like To Know How To Modify The Outlook 2002 Security To Allow My MS Access 2002 Program To Send Email.

I get the following message :-

A program is trying to automatically send-email on your behalf. Do you want to allow this? If this is unexpected, it may be a virus and you should choose "No".

I use a PST File with SMTP/POP3 Email and DO NOT connect to a Microsoft Exchange Server.

(Everything worked fine before I reinstalled my system with MS Office 2002)

It looks like MS have a workaround for users with an Exchange Server but what about us Standalone Users with a simple PST File ?

I would prefer to 'Tweek' my security settings to allow this .MDB Database to Work...

... Failing that I would simply just want to remove these 'New Security Features'.

Does anyone know how I can simply 'Tweek' the 'Outlook 2002 Security'

Many Thanks In Advance...

I had the same problem w/ outlook 2000 after our Dept installed the security patch. From what I've read the only way to get around it is to reinstall office w/out the security patch. We resolved our issue by just using another computer w/out the security patch. There is a free program I read about in "Access-VB-SQL Advisor" that address this issue, you may want to look into it if you can't find other options. It is ASPMail and can be found at I haven't tried it myself though.

Good Luck,
Phil

Phil, I have used ASPMail for a webserver in the past - very good tool from ServerObjects Inc. - I assumed that many people have also had the same problem, but it looks like everyone is being quiet ... :-( - Many Thanks, Mark Dicken, England, UK
