I have a windows 2000 domain controller and a nt4 domain controller. They are two seperate domains that use the same subnet but different ip ranges and gateways. Is there a way to connect to a share on the nt 4 domain controller from the 2000 using mapping of network drives by ip addresses. I would really appreciate the help.

Without asking to much, try this first. Add a static route to the NT4 Domain in your TCP/IP gateway section. Then try and map the drive using "connect as" tp specify a user with proper credentials on the NT4 domain. Let me know how this goes.

If this a private LAN connecting to another private LAN, you will need to allow access via your firewall (if you have one) first. By private I mean is the address range internal to you and then you use one or more actual ISP provided IP's to reach the Net?

But connect as must require username and password, I solve this problem by creating same user name and password in each domain (it ok). But is there other way to map??, guide me plz
