I have a datefield in an accessdatabse that I will like to show in a multilist in an applet.

The field is shown as: 2001-07-31 00:00:00.

I would like to show it like: 31/07/2001

Can I do this without loosing the possibility to sort by date when the heading "Date" are clicked?

Yes. Try using DateFormat or SimpleDateFormat. They can both be found in the 'java.text' package.

I hope this helped! ;-)
