Any way to force interactive clients to log off after a certain idle time? Logging them off from resources only isn't an option here.

I have 2 options for you. One is FREE the other not. The one option is using a product called NetOFF. Do a search for it.It is not cheap though. $20 per node. The other is a little more involved but works great. First go to and download their free utility called Activesaver. It is a screen saver that lets you do many things. Log off users, shut down a pc, ect... Copy this utility to the users PC in the Winnt\system32 directory. Set the rights for everyone read/execute. Go into screen savers and choose the active saver. Configure it accordingly and then choose the set rights for all users option. Next, use the MMC snapin for group policy local machine and set it to HIDE users screen saver. This way the utility works and users cannot access or disable it.

Good Luck
