Hi how are you guys?

I am a consultant learning how to use MS Access by doing a small project for CCSABCO. In the attached db, in the FailureInfo form, there are 2 subforms (subEquip and subPers). i was wondering if there is any way to make these show as a list where the record can be selected. i did have a listbox before but they do not have scrollbars so i decided i needed a subform. please help:)

Ok I have figured out the above. I am attaching the new database. the problem i am having now is that I cant select all the records i need in the form...I think there may be something wrong with my relationships. PLEASE PLEASE help. Willing to kiss your feet :)

Please try to describe more fully what the symptoms of the problem are. I can't tell what is wrong from your description. The FailureInfo form does not have subforms named subEquip or subPers.

Thanks Lisa

On the FailureInfo form i need to select a date, an equipment and a person and thereafter set actions. this is not possible as ACCESS moans at me when i try and do that :)

Do you need to enter more than one failure date/time for each piece of equipment and person on the FailureInfo form? It seems like it would make more sense if you were limited to only one failure date/time.

No, it is one failure at a time...but in the long run, you could have many breakdowns on the same machine :)

I really appreciate you taking your time to have a look :)

Mitch,

It looks to me as if the record source of the FailureInfo form should be set to "FailureInfo" instead of "Equipment". The equipment and person combo boxes would then be bound to the fields in the FailureInfo table. You would move the "Date of Failure" and "Time of Failure" text boxes onto the main form and delete the [subDate] subform. Then change the "Link Master Fields" and "Link Child Fields" to "FailureID" for the [Action Subfor] subform.

If you want more help, please make your questions specific.

I hope this helps!

Thanks. I am gonna work on it over the weekend and let you know specific problems. Anything I can perhaps help you with regarding other engineering/quality aspects? I specialise in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)
