How to make a flash movie stop at the end also adding music and sound. 1

I am a very patient person,I was just wondering if anyone, whomever that can help me please do so.Cause the movie is an intro to a page I am making with a comic series. I would apreciate your help. They are stupid questions to some but not to me, I would like to learn flash and not give up sp easy on it. I am a newbie/novice in flash so I am not familar with expert tech terms. 1) How do I get music to play in my movie and fade in, stopping at a certain point fading out so another sound can play and stop at the end of the movie. It will be really small, movie wise since its an intro.
2) how do I make the movie stop at the end of it?
3) How do I get the movie to auto load my page after its done?

You need to become familiar with the actions palette.

To get your movie to auto load your page at the end place a keyframe on the last frame. Then right click on the keyframe and select actions.

Under the basic actions (on left) getURL. It will write code that looks like this: getURL(""

At the bottom you will see input boxes for the URL and the window that you want it in. Fill that in and that's all there is to it. Should look something like this:
getURL("

http://www.yoursite.com","_parent");

There is no need to stop the movie it will stop when the new URL is loaded.

As for the sound questions it may be a bit easier if you read about that. Here is a link:

Welcome BrokenSaint,

I'll start by answering your second & third questions.

2- To have your movie stop at the end, you simply have to add a stop(); action on the last frame of that movie.
To achieve that, since it's allways better to have an actions layer on it's own, insert a new layer(if you don't already have one) in your movie and rename it actions. To set actions on this layer, you now have to insert keyframes where you want to add these actions. Simple enough, just select the last frame of this new layer (it should match the last frame of your movie's longuest layer) and simply press F6. Now double-click this keyframe and the Frame Actions window will pop up. On the left, you'll normally have a list of all the actions you can assign this frame. Scroll down till you see stop. Double-click the stop, it will appear on the right and this constitute the present script for that frame.
Now you could close that window and test your movie (under CONTROL-> hit Test Movie), it should stop at the end. But since you want to add another action which is linking back to your page, scroll back up the left list till you see getURL. Double-click it, it will appear under your previous stop action.
Now, in the appropriate boxes, just fill in the url of your home page, and select either _self if you want your page to open up in the same window as your intro or _blank if you want your page to open up in a new window.
You should have something like this:

getURL ("[URL unfurl="true"]http://www.yourserver.com/path/yourhtml",[/URL] "_self");

Get this working... And we can talk about sound later. They're severals ways to do what you want to do with sound; let me just say, that for now, the easiest would simply be to import sounds (Mp3 or Wav - each on their own layer) with already included fade ups & downs. But as I say you can eventually do those in Flash also.

If ya don't mind I would really apreciate your help in getting the jists of Flash down. I will post how it coming along too so you can see my progress. %-( Why do I have Flickering Colors and it seems liek it has a break in the movie?! the words seem to stop and go again. Maybe its my puter but when I do it on the test in flash it doesn't do that, when I uplaod it to the net it flickers and all. whats with that?? tell me what I am doing wrong? if you need the fla I can email it np! thanks

Oh! by the way, I don't know if its normal or not but the test shows peeks in the movie as well, I dunno if its the music or not. but all I know is some frames seems to stop at some point in time and then starts again. If its a foul up on my part I can send you the fla and you can look it over?

Maybe its my computer? X-) I have no idea, the flash freaks out like its stoping then going again when its on my computer, its odd cause it DLDs rigth away and plays.

I baaaaaaaack! Listen to this, I want to have the music I place in my movie to fade in [bold]first[/b] then repeat after the fade and loop over and over without the music overlaping itself. how do I get that to work? or is it possible? cause the movie itself will not stop since it will be a title type thing. ex: the words I am me will flash over and over, but music in the background with play with it, havign a fade in at the begining of the song and dont fade in after the movie repeats.
understand how I want it? if not here is a link to a repeating one I did that has music, but it fades at the end so it dont overlap. This movie below I want it to fade in and out but this is how I want it to repeat but without the fade out and all that.

Do you want the user to be able to do something with this sound, shut it off for instance? Or is it totaly out of his control?
Would this be a short loop? Or are you thinking of a whole song or something?

I want them to be able to turn it off but the movie keeps repeating, and the music will be a loop cause a whole song is WAY too big to put it in flash.
I have seen on some flash movies where when you turn off the music, it fades out. and fade back in when they turn it back on, but it never repeats the fade in at the begining. How do you do that?
