It's a little difficult to understand what your problem is and your desired outcome, so I'll guess...
You have two notes users sharing 1 PC...?
Presumably, the Notes client is configured for only one of these users. You need to create a location document for the secondary user and have access to their user ID file, either locally or on a mapped network drive.
From the Notes client, click File, Mobile, Locations, you should see 1 or more location documents, one of which will probably be called Office or Network or something similar. Take a copy of this location document (copy and paste), select either version and click Edit location. The fields and their options are too numerous to detail, but the minimum changes you must make are:- Basics Tab Location Name - Change this to something meaningful like the secondary user's name. Internet Mail Address - The secondary user's Internet Mail Address.
Mail Tab Mail file - Change to the full path name of the secondary user's mail file (e.g. mail\j\johndoe)
Advanced Tab User ID to Switch to - Input, or browse and select, the full path name of the secondary user's ID file.
Save and Close.
One more thing, click File, Preferences, User preferences under the Basics tab check the box that says Prompt for location. The users can now choose which location document to use upon login.
I hope that helps and I wasn't too far off the mark with my guess.
Tonty,
I have need of a very similar environment (but for testing purposes). I would like to be able to switch users mailbox's from one machine without VMware or multiple installs of Notes. My biggest problem (I believe), is that I do not know how to pull a users ID file from the Domino server with out actually using the Notes installation to find it, and copy it to the local PC.
I am using Domino 5.0.8 and same with Notes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
