If any user delete a file, syslog should create a log of ther username time and date of deletion.
And if any kernel.crit message generated that should mail me at something@something.com
How could i do this?
I have gone through syslog.conf and syslogd but could not gone through it. Any good documentation is also welcomed.

thanks
Amit

Your first question will be difficult to solve.

The second: Syslog doesn't support email but you can install a log monitor programme that emails you. The only one I know is called swatch but the re are probably better tools around.

Depending on your userbase, this could flood your mailbox! Why do you need those warnings ? Could, instead of doinga system like this, changing the permissions on where those files are a more simple way to make sure THEY don't mess with things?
