Hi all,

I'm trying to add a new mailbox/extension, but it keeps coming up as Type:information, which tells me that I've used all boxes. I checked and the system says I have 14 seats/boxes. According to my list (outside of the Norstar/CallPilot 150 system), we've only used 13 (12 extensions plus one for the AA). I know I can go f980 and try them one at a time, but is there another way so I can be sure that I haven't forgotten any?

Thanks,
Mike

remember the by default the cp assigns mailboxes for general delivery and system administrator.

thanks IronHorse, but our CallPilot isn't connected to the network (it's also ancient and 9 feet off the ground).

Is there a way to do it via a terminal/phone and use the Next button to see the list of them?

hmmm...Thanks atdjr123. I guess I can set one phone to have no mailbox, so the new sales guy can have one. We have a few folks who don't need vmail anyway. It's cheaper than buying another pack of mailboxes. These old systems are such a pain that way!

Thanks Curly, or is it Mr. Cord? Yep, atdjr123 was right, I'd accounted for the general delivery, but not the system manager. I'll set an existing extension to no mbox...as soon as I find that in the docs or this site.

> Ancient or not you can connect locally with a browser.

I might try that, Ironhorse. I did see the rj45 port and I have a crossover cable, but it's too short (the box is a legit 8 feet off the floor - not sure who made that decision). I'll be interested to see how much easier it is to administer from the web UI.

The newer laptops are not polarity sensitive, mine anyways 4 years old, connect with srtaight cable.

curly cord is right my man. f983/pswd/mbox/chg/dir/list then use the next softkey to view the mboxes.

Correct me if I'm wrong but gen del and admin mmxs are not charged against your total mailboxes. I made a 30' crossover cable just for conditions like this. The browser is the best way to see all the boxes.

Silver987 is correct box 100 and 102, and in the old days box 101, trouble mailbox do not count.

straight cable will not work, you will need crossover cable . you will also see mailboxes 100 and 102 assigned in the group of mailboxes as your first two. however you can still view the mailbox directory through f983 and those two maiboxes do add to the count. if you're coming up w/ info box then you're full. just check it out.

I wouldn't say a callpilot is ancient a startalk metal cabinet boat anchor model that weighted 50 lbs. is ancient. All callpilots have a LAN port to connect to, and yes it's a lot easier to view mailboxes and administor as a whole via the browser.
