how to link forms accross webapges? 2

I need help with some code. I need to find a script which will let me take information from one form on a webpage and place it onto another webpage. Essentially, it's formy job and I need it done by today else my boss will fit (trying to earn some brownies points by saying i knew web devlopment). Anyway, I have a test on my site where the person enters his name and the answers. If they pass, it will take them to another page which has a certificate of acheivemnt on it. I need to be able to get the name from the earlier page and insert it onto this certificate.

second issue, i dont' know how to insert data from a form onto an image file. The certificate is a gif file and while I can manually edit it by using text, I cannot place another piece of info on it, ie the name of the person.

HELP RUESTED PLEASE. MY knowledge of scripts and programmings is intuitive only, no programing experience.

How you get the name from the form input is determined by what script language you are using. How are you determining whether the person fails or passes the test?

as regards getting the name on the certificate, there is no straightforward way. The only thing that I can suggest is using a table. Set the background image for the table to be the certificate and arrange the cells so that you have a cell in exactly the position where the name needs to be and display the name in this cell. You could use a cookie to store the name... And if you are using a fairly updated browser you can use the css z-index attribute to put the name on the image.

I am using frontpage 98 so I'm not sure what type of script I'm using. HTML and Javascript I think. Interms of gradign the exam, the exam results are sent to an email address where I manual have to check each exam.

I tried the background image idea but it doesn't create a profesisonal appearance. Any ideas?

I threw together an example of what I was talking about, you can look at it at:

Just enter something into the text box on the first page, click submit and that will display on the image in the second page.
I tested it in IE 5.5, Netscape 4 and Netscape 6.
