Just activated a DID number through my phone carrier but don't know how to link it to an extension on the Neax 2000 IVS2.

I know CM7600 is for checking the DID so I used that to check on some known DID numbers on the system so that I can find out the relationship on linking the newly activated DID to an ext. This is what I got:

7600>4303:013-
7600>4307:002-
7600>4321:005-

I thought the last 3 digits (i.e. 013 or 002) is the LEN number of the extension but it isn't as the respective LEN for those extensions are:

ext 303 = LEN 001
ext 307 = LEN 003
ext 321 = LEN 106

Please help!

You are halfway there.

7600 is the command where it takes the digits coming from telco and points them to a conversion block. The last 3 digits (i.e. 013) are this conversion block, not the len.

so follow this:

7600>4303:013

goto command 7601 for day mode

7601>013:303

then for night mode

7602>013:303

Post back and let me know if this makes sense to you.

Gary

The result you get from 7600 is not the len it is the number conversion block number.

You need to take that result and check in Cmd 7601, 7602, 7603 & 7604 for day, night, mode a & mode b respectively.

Hello Gary,

When I checked 7601 & 7602, I got the following so it is linking to the right extension.

7601>013:303-
7601>002:307-

7602>013:303-
7602>002:307-

My next question will be how to determine the conversion block number for the newly avtivated DID 4329?

OK ... I checked 7601 & 7602 again and found that currently in my system, 001 to 023 are assigned with different extensions. From 024 onwards, it display NONE. i.e. 7601>024:NONE-
7601>025:NONE-

7602>024:NONE-
7602>025:NONE-

Does it mean I can link the newly activated DID (4329) to the next available conversion block number, in this case 024?

i.e. 7600>4329:024
7601>024:329
7602>024:329

Please advise.

Also check that command 200 has 4 or 43 set to 804.

Checked but that's what I got:

200>4:803
200>43:WRONG

What is the difference between 803 and 804??

803 is the correct setting in this instance. An 80X number means this code is assigned to be extension numbers, the last digit of the 80X number denotes the number of digits.

You are correct that you can use the next available block for your new extension. I however like to use the same block number as the extension number where possible as it makes it easier to track things down. So for extension 303 I would use block 303 and programme block 303 to go to 303. It comes down to what works for you which is the beauty of the flexibility of this system.
