I have a combo box cause based on tbl causelookup which consists of ID, Description and code fields on form outage. I have another combo box field protect based on tblprotect which conists of ID, description and code fields. I need limit selection of values of combo protect based on selection in first combo cause field code. How to do this .

Thanks in advance

In the causelookup combo Change event procedure rebuild the RowSource property of the protect combo and then use the Requery and SetFocus methods.

Hope This Helps, PH.

Thank you for your note PHV. Can you explained me steps by steps process how to do this?

I actually have a similar question. I also want to limit the items in a combo box on a user's selection in another combo box field. It's for a media database I'm making. Combo box#1 is the media type (video, cd, etc) and combo box#2 is the category. Categories for video would be comedy, action, drama, etc. Categories for cd would be rock, jazz, etc. Can I do this with a query in the first box's update event or do I have to use the dlookup function? An example would be great - thanks!!!

Me again. Sorry, I'm new - I see there are some FAQ's that address this question so I'll try reading up on it. Any quick tips would be appreciated though. Thanks again!
