Hello,

We have 2 PBXs, which are running DCS over IP with the use of 2 MedPros. We also have Modular Messaging 4.0.

We are running into a situation where we have 2 extensions associated to 1 mailbox. They are 61000 on PBX A and 51000 on PBX B. Since these 2 stations are not on the same PBX, how can we light the MWI for both phones on separate PBX systems?

We've tried a ticket to Avaya with no help, so I am looking to the community for help. Avaya's suggestion was to FCE, but that's not an option for us.

I'm sure we're not the only corporation out there that needs to light 2 phones on 2 separate PBXs with 1 mailbox.

Thanks!

It can work with 2 stand alone PBX's because I have it working that way on my phone using 2 PBX systems and one voicemail server.

Check the LWC Reception and the Audix Name fields on page 2 of the station form to make sure they say the name of your voicemail server.

For our system, they both say Audix
 AUDIX Name: audix

I was refering to this thread that says you have this working.

The system will call any phone number you want it to call. It can even call his cell phone. But that's not what you are trying to do. I initially thought you were trying to do something different.

I am going to digress.........

If I think of anyway to manipulate the system, I will respond here.

I too am waiting for lexcruz to explain how he did this. As I still think it can't be done. A work around might be to use web client for MM or message manager for IA.

Okay thanks for the help. If anyone else has any suggestions, I am open to them!

If the switches are DCS together, and you could somehow write an application in MM to use LWC store and LWC cancel to each extension (primary in one pbx, secondary in the other pbx) for the subscriber's mailbox and send this to either switch, it would work.

I don't know anything about MM.

Sounds like it could be a special application.

Manually dialing LWC store and LWC cancel will work across platforms that use DCS.

That's correct, we can *4 51000 and #4 51000 to have LWC on and off, it seems as though the MM isn't doing this for us however for the secondary extension.

Wonder if I should post this into the Avaya MM forum?

If you can manually turn the lights on with these codes in either switch, it is not a switch issue. Only someone in MM could tell you if it could be done.

I know this does not work with audix or octel voice messaging. But, either of those could have a special application written that would involve association of the secondary extention to another PBX id and when a message is received, send messages to light lights for both the primary and the secondary.

I would talk to Avaya to see if they could do this. They will do special applications like this if your company pays for the development.

We've talked to Avaya, and have had numerous tickets closed on us.

Regarding this specific issue, I've had more help here in the last 2 days, than Avaya support was able to give me in 3 weeks.

I'm think I am going to post this in the MM forum, as I feel I may get some help there.

Thanks again everyone for their help - and if anyone has anything else to add, please do so as this is still an open case for us.

Thanks for the link. Sounds exactly like my issue. I will read that link keep trying new things out.
