How do I configure Exchange 2000 to leave a copy of email on server that has been downloaded by Outlook 2000 client?

I've checked the Outlook client config parameters - and cannot find anything.

Is there a setting within Exchange server to accomplish this.

Many Thanks In Advance

Martin

If you set the O2K profile up to connect to an exchange 2000 server the mail is left on the exchange server by default, even if you have offline use enabled your email is still on the server.

You can configure Outlook clients to leave a copy on the server. You just go Tools/Accounts/Properties/Advanced and check Leave A Copy of Messages on Server.

Hope this helps.

qhulk, what you suggest only works if you use PST's.

Thanks but the Tools/Accounts/Properties/Advanced / "Leave A Copy of Messages on Server" does not apply.

The TOOLS / SERVICES / MICROSOFT EXCHANGE SERVER is selected.

is microsoft exchange server is selected then your messages reside on the exchange server. That's the whole point of using exchange is to have one place where email is stored, and SAVED!!!

On the outlook client. Go to Tools, services, Exchange properties, check to see the delivery. To leave the mail on the server insure that the "username"-mailbox is where mail is delivered.
