Hi guys,

I have a certain set of .rpt files and when I open them I can see the design of the reports but inorder to run them I need to connect to the database. How do I know or figure out what is the datasource.

If you are just looking for which DB you have the report pointinig to go to Database, then to "Set Datasource Location" and a box will pop-up and show you which DB you are pointnig to and an option to browse for a new location.

That is what i do, as we have 2 datawarehouses and one prod DB.

And BTW I'm using Crystal Reports 8.5x which not similar to the conventional CR 9,10,XI. So, can you please help.

Database, set location will tell you this.

dgillz is correct but I would phrase it as select the menu item "Database" then select "Set Location".
