Hello,

We are using Outlook 2000 and E2K. Our users have to input their username and domain name every time when they log into Outlook. Is there a way to keep username and domain name?

Your any help will be greatly appreciated,

Thanks,

If you go to the properties of the users profile, you get several tabs across teh top. there is an advanced tab which towards the bottom has a drop down box for security options. This needs to be set as password authentication instead of none for the system to use the users login ID and password.

Thanks for your reply.

You mean "Logon network security"? It is already set up to "NT Password Authentication". It does not work.

They use their domain accounts to log in PCs.

Is the Exchange server(s) in the same domain as your users?

Yes, the Exchange server is the same domain.

This shouldn't be happening unless the user accounts in question are locked out. Are you certain that these accounts do not have expired passwords or are locked out?

An organization with clients logging into the domain that hosts an exchange server should not have to login each time. Once they login to the PC, they should be square.

We had this problem on our system. I would check the system event log for errors with event ID 5513 showing somthing like this:

The computer Comp01 tried to connect to the server \\Server using the trust relationship established by the NETWORK domain. However, the computer lost the correct security identifier (SID) when the domain was reconfigured. Reestablish the trust relationship.

I just had to rejoin the network on these machines and the problem went away.

Food for thought.
