How to Install- IIS/Interdev/Frontpage

You shoulda bought Pro.
XP Home doesn't support a web server.
Some people have kludged (ripped off?) stuff from a Win2K CD and gotten it to work. Otherwise you need to get some 3rd-party web server that won't integrate so well with FP.
Sorry - you should have read the label more closely first.
XP Pro comes with IIS 5.1
There ain't no PWS anymore, like in Win95/98 (or with hacks - again unsupported, in Me).

Oh, well excuse me please.
We see so many disappointed XP Home users who want to use ASP or FrontPage that I simply jumped to a completely wrong conclusion about what you were asking.
Order? I suggest:
1. IIS
2. InterDev (6 a.k.a. 98?)
3. FrontPage 2000
InterDev and FrontPage use different "frontpage extensions" but you will probably benefit from newer code from the newer version of FrontPage. They will each do their own thing on setup, but in general I'd install the older stuff first. Setups for more recent FP versions (2000, 2002) are pretty aware of InterDev and its needs.
You might want to be sure to look at the InterDev "server components" install before you install FP too. This is on "page 2" of the Visual Studio setup or something like that. Not sure about stand-alone versions of VID.
You might also try asking this in forum117 [InterDev].

You would need to install IIS service first have it running and than followed by Front page and than the extensions for Front Page. When you install IIS service make sure everythign is checked. Than install Interdev. Make sure you do not have any firewall software running on the system becoz interdev will not see the web server that you are connecting to. Make sure you have also norton running and other securities that you do not get hit by nimda and other fun loving microsoft attracting viruses
- Status
