Hello

I have an external HP Surestore SCSI DAT drive that is connected to a SCSI card in my server (RedHat 6.2).

Does anyone know how I would reference the drive in order to perform backups using cpio or tar?

Thanks in advance.

Gary

I also am having problems installing a surestore DAT drive on my linux DL360 server. The device shows in bios ID no 3 (it is installed on a seperate SCSI controller) This controller was picked up during the hardware discovery phase after installation. However the backup device does not show. I have run cat /proc/scsi/scsi and I am informed that no scsi device is connected

HELP!!

Hi all,

i've got a rh 8.0 box with a hp scsi internal tape drive with id 3.
I've just gone thru some docs on redhat.com and have read that one don't have or can't mount a Tape Drive.

What i actually do to write some logs:
#tar –cvf /dev/st0 /var/log

To read the written logs:
#tar –tf /dev/st0

I'm only a newbie, hope this helps!
