I have an Option 11c rls 25.30. Is there anything special I need to do after inserting the card into the switch? We are trying to add Caller ID to some of our 500 sets.

you need to program the ports on the card - up to 32 ports

ld 13
Req: new
Type: CMOD
TN: <-- enter TN

repeat for each port

LD 10
set Class of service for CLID for each analog set with CLID display

CNUA or CNUS and CNAA

This is a Nortel Meridian-1 Option 11C R25.30

1. Does the Class Modem Card NT5R20 only support CLID on only (32) 500/2500 type ports then? If so, will we need additional cards?

2. Can this card be inserted into any available slot in any cabinet? Or must it only be inserted into Cabinet 1 ?

Please advise. Thank you.

It can go in any slot and it works much like a DTR card - 32 ports can be in use at the same time. you would probably not use more than 2 or 3 ports at any one time

I have a motorola 5.8ghz cordless phone with Caller ID capability. If the trunks and switch is programmed correctly, can you furnish Caller ID to a 3rd Party analog phone?

Yes, you can. However, if the call is transferred (say, from the attendant to you), CLID is lost on transfer.
