Basically, you can't. A PDF is an end product and therefore not meant to be editable. You need to go back to the authoring program, insert the image and then remake the PDF.

You "might" be able to do this:

Create a PDF of the cropped image you wish to insert and append that page to the end of your document.

Select the image using the black arrow tool and choose Copy from the drop down menu.

Navigate to the page that you wish to place the graphic on and paste. Text will not automatically reflow, so you'd have to make adjustments using the black arrow tool or a separate application (such as inFix).

There are third party programs that I use to insert pics or logos into pdf's, the one I use is PitStop Professional by Enfocus, kind of pricy though but in my printshop indispensable! Another thing that I have done is to bring the pdf into Quark/Indesign and place the photo in question where you want it and just make another pdf.

Check out the new WordPerfect X3 product from Corel - it will let you create, open, edit, and save PDF's. The home edition doesn't do it, but the standard and professional editions do.

1. convert your image to pdf
2. open the document you want your image inserted into
3. create a button the approximate size of your pdf (you can resize later
4. in the options tab, look for layout. select icon only.
5. under choose icon, select the image that was converted to pdf.

there's your image. place it anywhere you want. using another button, you can even make this image popup if you want.
