I want to connect MD via tcp-ip .I have acable and connect NIU and one PCs ethernet card. But I cant do settings for winfiol 5.1 . How can i know what the md's ip adress. I gave my pc 192.168.16.1 ip address. But i could not connect them. I will pleased to see your helps. Thanks you very much.....

Yazici,

Here you go mate.

IONPP; Will check the current IP of the NIUs network port.

IONPC:EQU=1-0-10-60,IP=123.45.152.123; Substitute the EQU and IP for your own values to set it up the way you need.

Thanks. But I have to add that; we have no connection between Md and PC. Because our serial connection doesnt reply any command. I tried to ethernet TCP conn. I want to know does md has a known ip number at the assemble for all the systems. Thank you very much indeed. ..YAZICI..

I doubt it very much.

You would essentially need a serial connection to setup the TCP/IP connection.

We would be best to address the prloblem that you cannot access the MD110 with the serial connection.

When you connect the PC to the IPU/NIU, what are you doing? What is happening?

At the setup menu;
Protocol: TCP/IP
host name: my ip address
port number :23
terminal type: unknown
target :md110
when I try to connect, program says connection failed and if I want to open properties to change.
also I want to attach this: My serial port connected to MD. But when I enter a comman , says command error.

I am trying to run program via using these two way. Thanks for your interests... .........YAZICI......

As I said before, lets setup the serial connection first.

You are getting command error?

Please clarify.

What are you entering before it comes back with command error?

Any command can make an error message. For ex: ALLREI; or GPDAP: GRP=ALL; makes error msg. I am really sorry to take your time, also thanks.

It's ok, I want to help.

So when you echo SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSs;

It says "ENTER PASSWORD" and you enter the password and you are logged on.

What is the EXACT ERROR MESSAGE when you type GPDAP:GRP=ALL;

Is it WRONG AUTHORITY CLASS?
NOT ACCEPTED COMMAND BUSY? Etc etc, we need the message

Dear TBluk;
When I echo sssssssssssss without ;i can login and system comes into niux type. But when i type sssss; system does not respond to my command. pass to other line and wait. then i try again but nothing occured. where is the problem. i connect terminal from COMII baud rate 9600 8 word lenght, no parity and 1 stop bit. also i use winfiol 5.1 . Have a nice day.

Aha!

You have inadvertantly logged into NIUX which is the file administration program for the NIU board.

When you are faced with the ?> prompt, type in quit in lower case, followed by ENTER

Then echo your SSSSSSSSSSSs again, and login as normal.

You wil now be able to issue commands again.

Let me know if this works

To Yazici,

You said that you're able to login with SSSS without ';' to niux.

In niux you can use the 'netcnf e' command to see the IP settings of the NIU board. See Example below. Maybee it will help you. (If necessary you can change the IP parameters). For more commands in niux, type help.

niux > netcnf e
