HOW to inform that the called party is ON THE PHONE before transfering to Voice Mail
This question applies to a Meridian ONE 51C running rlse 23.

Just for premisses to premisses calls, the calling party needs to be informed on his 2616/2008's display that the called party is on the phone, whenever the situation holds true, before transfering the call to voice mail. All the phone sets are programmed with a DID line on key 00 and an internal rollover extension on key 01, last hunting key is key 01.
Does anyone know if this feature is available and HOW to programm the phone station - or maybe the switch - in order to activate such a feature. I am familiar with how to add and change sets, but not much on how to deal with loads that changes the whole system; so, baby steps please.

The flip side of this question is the required programming in order to place the call for the calling ONCE THE CALLED PARTY BECOMES AVAILABLE . Also, I can do it?

This can be done in your mail system (e.g. Meridian Mail).
In the mailbox there's the option "Callers notified of busy line: Yes / No" in the Class of Service section.

If I understand this scenario correctly, you are asking if a caller can be notified that an extn, (that has Hunt on Busy to MMail), can be notified that the extn is busy before the call goes to MMail. If that is the question, then the answer is no.

Before I give up to such important feature....

I'm looking for a message on the caller display like: Destination is Busy or the caller could be provided on her/his phone display with information that the called extension number has been rolled over to key 01- therefore, showing that key 00 is buzy - . ....After 4 rings the call will end up on the Voicemail box of the called party, but the caller would have the inportant information that the called party is in her/his office.

If still not possible, thanks you for the effort and attention.
