hi;

I posted this in the NS forum but got no response. There aren't many posts there, so maybe that forum's not used much. I thought someone on this forum might be able to help.

I got a new machine at work, and I would like to transfer my Netscape 7.1 cookies into the new machine. I can't seem to figure out where the file is on the old maachine, or how else I might acoomplish this. When I installed NS7.1 I just follwed the default intallation, so the file set-up should be typical. Any suggestions?

That would probably also depend on the system you are using. I am using Mozilla as my primary browser, but think that Netscape probably uses the same technique. For me, in Win 2000 and Win XP, cookies are stored in:

\Documents and Settings\<ProfileName>\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\<randomstring>\cookies.txt

Hope it helps.

To find out where they're stored on your PC:

- Run NN7.1,
- Click "Edit",
- Click "Preferences",
- Click "Advanced"
- Click "Cache"

The folder listed as the "Cache Folder" will probably be where you'll find the "cookies.txt" file (it is on my Win 2000 system, anyhow).

Hope this helps,
Dan
