Hi,
I'm trying to import a table from an access database. I created a query in access en exported the result of the query to a dbase III table.
When I open the table in foxpro I see now that some of the special characters are changed.
For example the words "Lemméstraat" is changed to "Lemm‚straat"

How can I solve this.

I had a similar problem with converting Accents in Fox for DOS 2.5 tables to VFP 6.0. When I used the DOS tables in VFP, all accents were converted into some other character such as a comma or a plus sign, etc.. I discovered that with Windows, data supports several codepages based on languages. DOS has no such codepages. The default VFP codepage is based on the language of your Operating System. Mine is 1252. You can find out what it is with the cpcurrent() command. Well, I found a nifty little program called cpzero.prg. It is documented in MSDN and it can be found in your VFP\tools directory.

That should get you started. Basically before I use the table, I had to run cpzero with the table. So:

DO Cpzero WITH 'MYFILE.DBF',437

437 you'll note is the US MS-DOS codepage.

I hope this helps you. I know are data coming in is from two different places (Fox for DOS and Access), but who knows.
