I want to configure Solaris 2.6 on x86 as my LAN mail server. There is no concept right now for any mail except my Intranet mail services. I am using DOS O/S on client machine & using TCP/IP PATHWAY Software as communication software. I have email client for Pathway.

How can I setup a local email server with a local domain name TestEmail.Com, should I need DNS server for this? If yes, I dont have any root DNS server as I am not connected with Internet, how can I configure DNS?

Please help.

Hi

You really don't have to be connected to the internet to use
DNS , just create a primary DNS server for your domain and go ahead assigning names for all the client machines in your domain
