Each time I start up Windows 2000 Pro requests a password. I always hit the 'ENTER' key without entering a password.

How to get rid of the Password screen?

Start, Run, control userpasswords2
Uncheck the box at the top requiring that users must enter a password.

The control userpasswords2 trick is usually used for Windows Xp, because Windows 2000 has the option built in. I if you go to your control panel and open users and passwords the box will open from there. You just uncheck the box that says everyone must login and put in the name of who you want to always login as.
