go to local area code table hit enter 2 times and then hit a to add a area code. you will have to remove 623 from the table it is in now before it will lwt you do this.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. I did already and it didnt seem to take. I use to live over in Flower Mound. Still have a house there. I use to work for Nortel..

Tried all this and still treating it like a long distance number. Maybe I should reboot. Can I do remotely without being onsite?

you can as long as you are in the rdac so you can boot it. i don't think that will help but you never know.

at this point it sounds like a patch is needed

When you say it is addiing the 1 are you looking at the switch side or the online CDR in the Octel

Yes in the switch. If I put any 10 digit number...

What does it show for the number transfered to in the online CDR ?

Look for event 27 and see if it shows dialing the 1 or not.

Not sure how to pull CDR. I tried but it said file transfer and nothing happens. I must not have the transfer file on..I click recieve file and it stops..

menu 20 and then online cdr go to menu 2 go down to event and put in event 27 and then s to scroll. if it shows nothing you will need to go to menu 16 1 4 and turn it all on.

It still is trying to make a 7 digit local call when I put 7 digits. But when I put 10 digits it trys to put a one. It will work if I put a 10 digit long distance number.

It just will not let me add these in Local. I tried I deleted the ones at bottom and then tried at top and no go. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

as you can see above it shows that it dialed the 10 digit number without a 1 in it and that is what it should do. So is the PBX putting a 1 in the string?

The 4099334628 Didnt have a one here either but it made the call....

If that is the case then the 1 is being stiffed in somewhere else

Well your guess is better than mine. Do you have any other thoughts on the matter? Should I reboot? Maybe the setting are not taking. Because I have N for long distance and local calling...

My idea would be to go onsite and dial the numbers from a test set and see what happens. You can clearly see that the Octel is not putting a 1 in front of the number so it must be on the PBX side. as you said it is now set to a N and not a 9n and the calls are still going out. Try resetting the RS 232 link first and then a reboot but I don't think it will do anything.

How do I tell if I have : " 10 digit local calling patch".?
Could this be the only thing I need? Where do I get it or any software upgrades...?

I am not sure you need it or that there is one for 3.11. the only wat to tell is to check with TAC and they will lookup the serial number of the system.

I still think that the Octel is dialing the right number as the CDR shows the number without a 1 in it.
